Today is Pastor Mike's 51st birthday! He think's he's getting old, but we all know that 50 is the new 30, right!
Anyway, we are excited that our Chinese New Year's Celebration went so well last Sunday night with 271 attending, perhaps 30%+ who do not attend our church! Plus, the new Chinese worship service is starting this Sunday night at 4:00pm. You are all welcome to attend. (Then, we shall see who wins Super Bowl 51 - the New England Patriots or the Atlanta Falcons.) Finally, the New Year is here for everyone in our congregation. We are blessed to have a multi-cultural church and so many great people who love the Lord. Blessings, Nate

Merry Christmas leaders!
In case you missed out, Operation Serve: Christmas Edition happened last Wednesday night. We sent out 11 teams/groups of people and one team served refreshments. From what I heard everyone's group had a great time! We visited six nursing/assisted living homes and 25 homes. We hope to see you all next year. But this event really made us reflect on what we can do as a church to minister to the needs around us that are sometimes overlooked or yet-to-be-discovered. So, after discussing this idea with the Discipeship Ministries board/team we hope to make more of an effort to have meaning ministry service happen by-the-people-for-the-people for all 12 weeks of Midweek Boost this winter. Beginning January 11 through March 29 (that's 12 Wednesdays) we will have three new MissionPoint D-groups available: a new prayer ministry led by Sandy Sertell, a new repair (home and auto) ministry led by Brandon Ralston and Kevin Kramer, and a care (contact and visit) ministry led by Jerri Niswander and Nate Stults. There is room for one more coordinator for the care ministry. We will lump them all together for recording purposes and nickname it "CPR" to make an easy acronym for the evening. We welcome anyone to jump around to any or all three groups. See this Sunday's bulletin insert for more details. If you want to be involved in this new MissionPoint you can register your name for CPR (Winter 2017 Midweek Boost) HERE. Also, last Sunday we brought in 13 new members and had a great Connexions Tour after second service. Pics from the last few Sundays and Wednesday can be found on our Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/findlaynaz. Thanks for all you do to minister to others in Christ's name! We are his hands and feet. Grace & Peace, Nate and the staff Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope your holiday goes well visiting loved ones tomorrow. Our Advent season begins this Sunday, Nov 27. Our sermon series this year is "The Light That Overcomes". I, Nate, am writing you to "ignite" a spark for Operation Serve: Christmas Edition. It's on Wednesday, December 7 at 6:30-8:00pm. That's two weeks from today. We are looking for more team leaders, and of course, you can come up with your own plan. The options we have are limited to a group of 3-8 adults or so, and I will be assigning groups in advance as best as we can. Please sign up to participate for Operation Serve HERE. This database link will give us access to who is coming so far and how to make adjustments. We have a need for people to head up a small group going to the following places:
Operation Instructions:
If Dec 7 evening is not good for you, but you can go in the daytime of Dec 8 or 9, we could send someone to the fire/police stations, Chamber of Commerce, offices of city officials, school offices, city/county maintenance offices, non-profit agencies, hospital, etc. Again, please sign up to participate for Operation Serve HERE. This database link will give us access to who is coming so far and how to make adjustments. God bless and Happy Holidays! Nate and the Naz staff [email protected] Hello Leaders! Thanks for attending the banquet one week ago tonight! If you missed it, videos of the event are here: vimeo.com/190880223 vimeo.com/190880245 Our key theme for the event was "Ignite" and we pray that the Lord would ignite a passion in all of us! Here is the Google slideshow we used. A special thanks goes to Martha Weigman for catering the meal, Dave & Cindi Houghtaling for setup and tear down, Brent Beggs for piano, Krista Rigsby, Sophia Ruiz and Joy Morse for helping. If you have not completed the Leaders 2016 Survey, you can find it at leadfindlayfirstnaz.weebly.com . It only takes a few minutes - just click-and-submit. Thanks for all you do in your D-Groups! During Christmas there are always plenty of opportunities to get involved and serve. See our bulletin, website findlayfirstnaz.org or social media for info. For one, I encourage all our people and D-groups to pick a project for Operation Serve for Wednesday, December 7th at 6:30pm followed by refreshments at 8:00pm. Tracy and I will be coordinating the event this year. Have a great weekend and Happy Veterans Day! Grace & Peace, Nate Hello Leaders -
I'm emailing everyone that has given me affirmative RSVPs for the banquet, which is just two nights away. We are pushing 70 attendees at the moment! The theme for this year is "Ignite." Martha Weigman is looking forward to feeding all of us :) After dinner Pastor Mike and others have some stories to share to help guide us for the next year. Before you come, we would love to have you fill out a survey. It's just a click-and-send type. Five of us from the Discipleship Team put our brains together to create it. We will share what results we have come in on Friday with the assistance of Lynn Lease. Please complete it by tomorrow. CLICK HERE to access the survey!! If you have any questions, contact me at 419-788-0975 cell/text or [email protected]. Thanks and see you Friday 6:00pm at the Lakeview Pool clubhouse! Nate Hi LifePoint Leaders!
Many of you have spent me an RSVP for attending the banquet on November 4 at 6:00pm at Lakeview Pool. If you have not RSVP'd click here join the list and sign up for childcare if you need it! We want to compile a total of all who have participated in a LifePoint in the month of October! So after your group meets, within 24 hours, please log on to update the group (or have a recorder do it for you). If you still have not reported and are not sure how to do it please WATCH THIS 6-minute video tutorial I made that will step you through it! (Or forward this link to the person who can access it online). We look forward to hearing some testimonies of some groups at the banquet and get your feedback from a brief survey. We will also recognize all our church leaders. I hope you are encouraged by our last night of revival services tonight... Thanks and see you soon, Nate So by now, you have hopefully seen an invitation to our leadership banquet coming up on Friday, November 4th at the Lakeview Pool Clubhouse. Doors open at 5:30pm and dinner will be served after 6:00pm. I texted out an invitation note to a lot of you or your spouse on Saturday. Then passed out many invitation cards on Sunday morning in person, and placed several in office mailboxes for many I missed. (I've have a record of who got what invitation when). You can RSVP and request childcare to me by October 23.
We are glad to offer this opportunity for our leaders to gatehr and discuss the mission, vision and strategy of the church. The church board met and discussed it last week. Then our Discipleship Ministry Team (chaired by Jill Erickson) discussed it again last night. So, to the say the least, the ball is rolling! Martha Weigman is catering the event. Cindi Houghtaling is decorating. Brent Beggs is providing live piano music. Our team will be offering a short survey before the event, so please check back before the end of the month. I look forward to celebrating, and serving with you. I hope your D-Groups are going well! God bless, -Nate Hi Leaders !!
A few quick things: First, is a big announcement...we will be hosting a First Annual Findlay First Naz Leadership Banquet on Friday, November 4 at 6:00pm. Please plan to attend. Formal invites will be coming from Jill Erickson and me. The venue has not been set yet but it's likely going to be off-site. Martha Weigman will cater. All class and group leaders are invited. Childcare reservations will be needed by Oct 31 latest. This will be a good time of reflection and celebration over the past year, and looking forward to the coming year. This event is just for leaders, including the church board, anyone leading a LifePoint, MissionPoint, ConnectPoint or a Discipleship Class. Second, we need every D-Group to report their meetings, as I mentioned in my previous email earlier this month (Sept 2). This task can be delegated to anyone with a computer or smart phone. By the time we meet you at the Nov 4 banquet, we will compile who has been in a D-Group during the month of October and we will report to all our leaders the results. Remember: two meetings is the goal for all our LifePoint D-Groups. One meeting/gathering is the minimum to have an active D-Group, as you naturally understand. You can find help/instructions for online group reporting HERE. Third, here is a 1 minute visual aid on YouTube of what we are going for through the ministry of LifePoint D-Groups. It's a video produced by Northpoint Community Church near Atlanta, GA. WATCH THIS Thank you for all you do in connecting people in the body of Christ through true community!! Finally, we hope you can join us for Grandparents Day this Sunday, October 2, and the luncheon in our FLC prepared by Jan Powell and Timothy Naylor. Plus, we offer a district training event on October 8 in Lima and revivals services on October 16-19! Have a great weekend! Grace & Peace, Nate Hi Group Leaders!
Just a quick reminder here for whenever your LifePoint D-group meets.... we request an attendance report just like in any Sunday AM or Wednesday PM class (and we actually go to the trouble of counting everyone in our weekly "Discipleship" total sent to the district office.) But, this is about more than a head count. Our system has helpful tools that allows for attendance and other key notes too to help your group. It's good to do within a few days of each meeting, by someone in your group who is responsible for the coordination/communications. Reporting a Meeting:
Thanks and have a great Labor Day weekend!! Pastor Nate Hi D-Group Leaders: I hope your ministries are going well. Keep pressing on!
I wanted to pass along this free E-book from www.secondchance.org entitled: 5 Ways to Heal A Heart. It's a quick read. This book supports the notion, we have thought for a long time: we all need to be ministers to each other. If you have a praise to report about how God brings hope and healing click here. That's all for now.... Nate P.S. Reminder to our LifePoint D-group leaders: we have a dinner coming up on Friday, May 13. |
