Hi LifePoint Leaders!
Thank you for your ministry to other families like yours. It’s that time of year that we reflect and envision the coming year. Please complete a LP leaders questionnaire today. You can easily find it online at www.leadfindlayfirstnaz.weebly.com. It’s only 10 questions. This will help me prepare for our upcoming leaders dinner. Speaking of...also please RSVP (with spouse separately) to the LifePoint leaders dinner hosted at Kevin and Leah Miller’s home on Thursday, May 31, 2018 HERE. I need your respond into this listing by Saturday at noon. (If you already sent a confirmation- thank you.) At the dinner, we will take a bit of time to discuss points from the book Lasting Impressions: From Visiting to Belonging by Mark Waltz, in particular chapter 8, “Develop Relational Roadmaps.” Mark is an author/pastor that I have had to honor of speaking with several times this year. Future news: save the date for our annual all-church leadership banquet which is on Thursday, Nov 1, 2018 at UF. Happy Memorial Day coming up! Have a great summer. Grace & Peace, Nate (Hello Leaders! The City of Findlay Community Conversation results from last summer are available to the first handful of people who find a booklet at the Welcome Center. There may also be a time when the Missions Trip team gathers to share their stories from Tennessee. It was a great trip! Hello leaders!
Here's another way for you or someone in your D-Group to get involved in local mission. Tomorrow night is the annual meeting for one of the finest local charities in Hancock County, The Christian Clearing House. For decades, they have served the poor and needy in times of crisis with the best of integrity, care and stewardship. Please understand that there are very important matters that affect our community that this charity helps. Because of their diligence our local churches are not overburdened by issues of poverty. At the Findlay Naz, we usually direct people to this charity, when they come in off the street asking for money. Therefore, I feel that we all owe the Clearing House a debt of gratitude and support, if we are true followers of Christ. I will be attending this annual meeting, so feel free to ask later about it, or join me there for dinner. If you wish to get involved with the CC House, you or your D-group could occasionally drop off essential household or personal supplies or work a 3-hour shift in the CCH office. If you stop by, you will notice that there are several other charities represented in the Family Center building on Blanchard Avenue. The clearing House is located on the far left side of the building. The center website listing states: Christian Clearing House www.cchsupport.org (419) 422-2222 Suite 107
The Clearing House Facebook page also keeps the public aware of needs and announcements. Women's Resource Center- We also have a "Bottles for Babies" booth in the Naz foyer benefiting the WRC, due Feb 25. Their website is www.wrchancock.org. Whichever ways you or your D-Group choose to get involved in local mission honors the Lord who always calls us to mercy, justice, and compassion. The Clearing House and WRC are two of many fabulous charities in Findlay who are run by wonderful Christian people. I hope you have a great week! Check out all the news at the Naz on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/findlaynaz. Grace & Peace, Nate Hello LifePoint leaders! I hope your new year is going well so far.
I wanted to let you know about an opportunity to get together with your LifePoint D-group with a focus on a 8-week reading of Scripture together. This study could also be used as a ConnectPoint between just two or three people who meet together weekly. It's called the Community Bible Experience. It's 40 days of daily readings (8 weeks x 5 days). This year in February and March our church is going through the writings of the prophets. Last year we did the New Testament, you may recall. The readings can begin Monday, Feb 5 thru Friday, March 30, as a best example. There is more info at www.communitybibleexperience.com. I can pass along free digital samples if you like. There are four courses that get through the entire Bible. Books will be available in the foyer beginning January 28 for a suggested $5.00. So if you're having your LifePoint D-Group meet together soon, you can discuss this possible initiative. As always, you have access to emailing your group or marking meeting attendance and notes by using our database at ChurchTeams HERE. So check out www.communitybibleexperience.com today and pray about how you and your friends can dig into the Word together! Read Big. Read Real. Read Together. In the meantime, I am posting 10 "Basic Bible Studies" the latter part of January on our district discipleshp page at www.nwonazdisciple.com. This is a great tool for new, growing, or even unbelievers. I may link it in more locally to our context in Findlay somehow too, more about that new idea later. I'm looking forward to meeting with my LifePoint this Sunday night and Feb 4 for games and fellowship and LIFE! I hope you are too (soon). Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Best in Christ, Nate www.findlayfirstnaz.org www.facebook.com/findlaynaz www.twitter.com/findlaynaz john316 Hi LifePoint leaders and friends!
I hope you're having a Merry Christmas and have met (or will meet) with your LifePoint group this month sometime to celebrate the holiday season! Sometime, in the coming month, I would love to catch up and here your plan and hopes for the coming winter/spring. In case you missed our leadership banquet on Nov 2, I posted a album of pictures on the church facebook page the next day. Also, Pastor Mike will be taking material that he presented at the banquet and blogging and preaching this coming month of January 2018. If your group has not met lately, you are welcome to come to the family game night at the church on New Years Eve, hosted by my LifePoint D-group. There is a Facebook event page with more details. This Sunday, I hope to see you at one of our Christmas Eve services, 10:45am regular service, and the 4:00/6:00pm candlelight services. Please be on the look-out for limited seating, and if it gets too full in the worship center, then we may need some of our people to surrender their seats. There is overflow seating available in the room 104 across the hall with a big screen TV monitor (from the teen area) for simulcasted viewing of the main service. Naturally, we want our guests to feel as welcome as possible in the sanctuary. It should be a special time together! If you can, grab a selfie of your family at the church (or elsewhere) and post it with something like...Join us tonight at 4 or 6pm for a candlelight service! #christmasatthenaz . It's great serving in ministry with you! Merry Christmas!! Nate Hello LifePoint Leaders! Happy autumn and harvest time to you!
Here are a few anouncements:
As always, we're praying about how we can serve the needs of our community, church family, and world! See you soon! Grace & Peace, Nate Hi LifePoint Leaders!
Summer is over, fall is here, the leaves are about to turn, football season is well underway, and we are all getting back into the flow of life for a new season. I hope you are all doing well. VBA The week after next we begin our Vacation Bible Adventure "Glow" on Mon-Thurs, July 10-13. All our kids are sure to have a blast! We hope to see you there for at least some of the evenings or on Sunday July 16 for the potluck lunch & outdoor activities. (Please, bring a dish or two! ). I know Tracy still has openings for helpers that week. Her cell/text is 419-202-4084. [And, speaking of bringing food, you are all invited to our Picnic on the Lawn, Sunday Aug 13 5pm, hosted by our Discipleship Ministries Team. It would be great to come and encourage our new-comers to attend as well.] 2. Community Conversation We have been invited by John Urbanski, CEO of the United Way, to engage in a small-group-style "community conversation." Actually, they are looking for feedback from citizens from across Hancock county. I have requested a date of Wednesday, August 2 at 6:45pm to gather in room 104 by the office. The meeting should be about an hour, once we get going. I hope you can be there if you have any concerns or ideas to bring to the table. This is open for anyone in our church. My hope is that our community will continue to flourish and that our local church(es) can make a remarkable impact through the power of the Spirit, in the name of Jesus, for God's glory. Here is a link: http://www.liveunitedhancockcounty.org/news. 3.
